Title: The Arrow Affair
Fandom: Who Killed Cock Robin? (Fairytales and Folktales)
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Words: 2,800
Summary: When Thomas "Cock" Robin is murdered in an unusual fashion, Inspector Rousette must follow the trail that leads to the murderer.
Author's Note: Based on the traditional nursery rhyme Who Killed Cock Robin? and this retelling. Written for [community profile] once_upon_fic as a treat for [personal profile] evilmuffins, who said "I'd love to see this framed as a Victorian murder mystery, with the animal characters being represented as humans instead." This ended up set in the 1920s, as I'm more familiar with those stories (and owe a great debt here to Josephine Tey's Inspector Grant), but I hope satisfies the desire to see this retold in something like the form of an English Country House Murder Mystery. Thanks to my usual beta.

Title: His Sister's Legacy
Fandom: Farscape
Rating: Adult
Word Count: 65,305 words

Summary: A "mundane AU" inspired by the "Unconventional Courtship" challenge.

Inheriting half of his late sister’s company means John Crichton is now Aeryn Sun’s business partner – to their mutual dismay!

Working together to keep Moya Enterprises out of the hands of a rival corporation run by Herr Skorpinski, they are forced to confront their growing attraction. Then John discovers that Aeryn promised his sister that she’d do anything—anything at all—to keep the company hers—and that there's a lot else she hasn't told him.

John doesn’t want a relationship based on cold-hearted calculation or half-truths. But can he trust that Aeryn's feelings for him are real?

Disclaimer: This story is a transformative work based on the Jim Henson Company/Nine Network/Hallmark Entertainment/A&E series Farscape. It was written for entertainment only; the author does not profit from it.
Author's Notes: The story is set during the same timeframe as canon i.e. it begins in 1999. However, to allow for the backstories I've developed for John and Aeryn in this alternate universe, both have been aged up by about ten years from their ages in canon and are now both around 40. Thanks to [personal profile] scribblesinink for the cheerleading, brainstorming and beta services.

On the run from trouble further West, he is planning to pay only a brief visit to claim the inheritance left to him by his grandfather, but finds himself drawn in to staying to defend the town from the escalating violence. Amid the fighting, and as the danger increases, he finds himself growing closer to one of the new settlers, a schoolteacher called Heather Lisinski. Author's Note: Author's Notes: This story only covers events in Season 1 and greatly simplifies the multiple storylines found in canon, as well as makes changes necessary for the technology of the time period. I have also needed to take some liberties with the real history of the Kansas Territory and the struggle for statehood, but hope these have not been excessive. More details about the historical setting and my research sources can be found in the notes at the end of the story.A huge thank you to: my usual cheerleader and beta, [personal profile] scribblesinink, for all her help; [personal profile] sgafan for the 'horse-beta'; and [personal profile] queenmidalah for volunteering to create some lovely art to accompany the story.
