I'm glad that works. Scribbler and I spent a lot of time talking about what Beck would do next - what he'd consider his orders to be. I think "doing the right thing" has always been important to him, but doubly so now.
I guess there was nothing in there for her to steal...{ouch} Sorry, I couldn't resist. :)
Hee! I did wonder about letting her wait in his tent, but couldn't resist it because then I could have the bit with his reaction to Charlotte. (And then have him being all cutely embarrassed when he realizes he's put his foot in it. Because I love me some cutely embarrassed Beck....) Besides, I'm sure the aide is keeping a close eye on Heather, right?
Poor Beck {{huggles}}. He needs a real friend...
Psst! There's a plotbunny in my plotbunny pen labeled "Beck and Heather: late night conversations over Scotch". Because yes, he does!
Oh, God, this made me laugh sooooo hard. I can just hear him saying this line, too. Bwahahahaha!!
I love his really dry sense of humor and those lines just write themselves. (I think Scribbler already told you that the ants have now turned into kind of a running joke....)
Looking forward to what happens next...
I know you've read the next couple of parts - I think you'll really enjoy Jake and Beck meeting again in Scribbler's Home Brew.
And thank you so much for reading and commenting! I'm so pleased you're still enjoying these stories.
